Seaburn and Roker Seafront
Sunderland International Airshow will be celebrating its 21st show this year from 10am ? 6pm on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 July. The two-day event, which attractshundreds of thousands ofspectators to Sunderland?s stunning coastline at Roker and Seaburn, is now the biggest free airshow in Europe.
The award winning spectacle promises to be another fun filled family day, with high-speed jets, precision flying, displays that will take your breath away and a variety of entertainment on the ground, so why not come down and enjoy the free weekend.
The action packed flying programme features front line jets, vintage aircraft, a parachute display team and aerobatic teams. The spectacular Red Arrows will be back again this year at 12noon on both days to give us an amazing display of aerobatics and precision flying.
If that?s not enough, there will be even more entertainment on the ground including The Band of HM Royal Marines (Scotland), Royal Marines Combat Display Team and the 4th Royal Artillery Light Gun Display team in the arena, children?s entertainment, a wide range of exhibitions and promotional displays, plus a number of trade stands.

Flying Display
This year?s thrilling national and international display teams will include:
The Royal Air ForcesRed Arrows, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (Spitfire, Hurricane, Dakota), Falcons Parachute Display Team, Typhoon, Hawk, Tutor and Kingair.
The Blue Eagles will be returning to this year?s Sunderland International Airshowwith theApache for the first time and the Lynx.
The show will also include theBelgium Air Component F16, Royal Netherlands Air Force F16, The Black Cats, Chinook (Sunday only) and Sea King Helicopter.
The Blades Aerobatic Team, DC6, Swift Glider Team,Team Guinot (Sunday only), Vulcan Bomber (Saturday only) will also be performing.
Role Demonstration
The Royal Fleet Auxillary Mounts Bay will provide the backdrop to this year?s show on both days. It will also feature in a spectacular Role Demonstration alongside the Royal Navy and Royal Marines to showcase their military capabilities in action.
On The Ground
Flight simulators, exhibitions from Pot Noodle, EA Games, Anchor Cream and Nintendo and a variety of entertainment will be available across Seaburn and Roker with something to excite and entertain the whole family.

Programme
You can also pick up a programme for just 3 to make sure you don?t miss any of this action ? packed weekend. Programmes will be available at Sunderland Tourist Information Centre before the weekend and throughout the site during the event.
Planes TV will be filming the event throughout the weekend. Customers can pre-order a copy of the DVD to remind you of your trip to the Sunderland International Airshow. DVD?s cost 9.99 and customers who order a copy on the day will also receive a free ?Vulcan Year? DVD. For more information visit:
Stay Safe
Due to the large crowds expected at the event, please ensure that you:
- Identify a specific meeting point on arrival at the event.
- Attach wristbands to your children, these are available from the information points, stewards and police officers, alternatively, provide your child with your mobile phone number.
- Please dress appropriately for the weather.
Park and Ride Information
A park and ride shuttle service will operate between 9am - 7pm each day at Fulwell Quarry (near Millers Inn, SR5 1JT) and Community North Sports Complex (Kingsway North, SR5 4BB) and will cost 5 per car.
Car parks will be signposted from major routes to Sunderland and supervised throughout the day. Shuttle buses will operate at 10 minute intervals between 9am - 7pm when the car park will close on both days. Please note that there will beno access to the car park after 7pm.
There is limited car parking available at the seafront on a first arrival basis, which is 6.50 per car.
Free parking will be available for orange and blue badge holders next to Morrison?s Metro station.
Public Transport
A number of public transport services will serve the seafront.
The nearest Metro Station to the event is Seaburn (15 minutes walk to the seafront). Additional Metro trains will be running on both days.
The following buses will be available to Roker and Seaburn seafront from Sunderland City Centre:
Saturday: E1, E2, E6,24
Sunday: E1, E2, E6, 22
These routes could be subject to further change upon information from the police or due to additional road closures.
