Volunteering is a great way of trying new things, making new friends, gaining skills and experience and even improving your health at the same time as helping your local community.

To find out what is available in your local area then come along to our Summer Volunteering Awareness Event on

Tuesday 17th August

The event is aimed at anyone who would like to find out more about volunteering and to meet with some of the local organisations providing opportunities.

Many of the organisations will be demonstrating the work that they are involved with in a fun and practical way and will have activities for all the family to take part in including Medieval Woodturning in period costume, Nintendo Wii, Children?s Messy Play, Card Making, Nordic Walking, Spoon and Bowl Carving, Large scale Model of the Venerable Bede, Arts and Craft activities and the Volunteer Life Brigade Ranger vehicle
