Join us at the top of Penshaw hill for an amazing opportunity to climb to the top of the monument.
Following that we will start with a talk from the National Trust Rangers on the surrounding area. The route will take us down the back of Penshaw monument through Cox Green and onto Washington Village stopping at various points of historic interest.
On arrival at Washington Old Hall you have the opportunity to view a display of old photographs of the area, provided by Washington History Society and rest your weary legs with a cup of tea.
The walk is open to all ages but please keep in mind the rough terrain with steep inclines over approximately 4 miles.
